FAQs about my Practice
I’ve chosen to practice as a registered unlicensed psychotherapist in the state of Colorado because it allows me to offer care that is both deeply aligned with my values and grounded in professional, ethical practice—without the constraints of the traditional licensing system. While I am not an LPC, I am legally registered with the state and am required to meet specific standards to maintain that status.
I uphold the same ethical and professional expectations as licensed professionals, adhering to the State of Colorado’s Code of Ethics as well as the standards set by the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC). I also stay current with best practices in the field and participate in ongoing training and continuing education, just as licensed counselors do.
Choosing this path gives me the flexibility to integrate faith-based and holistic approaches more freely while still maintaining a safe, respectful, and confidential environment for my clients. This decision was made with great care, with the goal of offering high-quality, ethical, and accessible support to the women I serve.
I work primarily with women who find themselves in a season of transition, questioning, or healing. Many of my clients are creatives, helpers, entrepreneurs, or nurturers—women who tend to carry a lot for others and are ready to start tending to their own emotional, spiritual, and relational well-being. If you’re longing to feel grounded, whole, and aligned with who you truly are, this space was created with you in mind.

I specialize in working with women who are navigating the effects of childhood sexual abuse, narcissistic relationships, infidelity, codependency, or burnout. I also work with creative business owners who are wrestling with internal barriers—like imposter syndrome, perfectionism, and people-pleasing—that keep them from showing up fully in life and business. Whether you’re untangling the past or stepping into a new identity, I offer a safe space to do that important work.
Yes, I do offer faith-based counseling for those who desire it. My own Christian faith informs the way I hold space—with compassion, grace, and a deep belief in your value and potential. That said, I honor each client’s personal journey. If you’re not sure what role, if any, faith should play in your counseling experience, we’ll approach that with curiosity, not pressure. You will never be judged or preached at—this is a space for honest conversation and authentic healing.
My approach is integrative and relational. I draw from my background in psychotherapy, faith-based counseling, and coaching to offer care that supports the whole person—mind, heart, body, and spirit. I use evidence-based tools, gentle challenges, and collaborative conversation to help you gain clarity, process your pain, and step into greater emotional resilience. I believe healing happens when we feel safe, seen, and empowered—and that’s exactly what I aim to offer in every session.
Clients often say they feel safe, unjudged, and deeply understood in our work together. I combine professional insight with real-life compassion—I’ve been in the trenches too. I won’t just sit back and nod. I’ll be engaged, curious, and committed to your growth. You’ll get a mix of validation, gentle challenge, practical tools, and encouragement rooted in grace. And because I’m not tied to the constraints of licensure, we have the flexibility to approach your healing in ways that align with your values and goals.
Counseling tends to explore your past, emotions, and internal patterns, while coaching focuses more on present goals and forward action. In our counseling work together, we may look at how past wounds are shaping your current experiences and gently work toward healing those roots. I do offer business coaching as well (through a separate container), but our counseling sessions are focused on personal well-being, emotional healing, and spiritual growth—not business strategy.
EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing—a research-backed therapy approach that helps people heal from trauma, anxiety, and distressing life experiences. Rather than just talking about the problem, EMDR works with the brain’s natural ability to process and rewire painful memories, helping you find relief without needing to relive the trauma in detail.
During an EMDR session, we use bilateral stimulation—such as guided eye movements, tapping, or auditory tones—while gently revisiting certain memories or beliefs. This process helps the brain reprocess old experiences in a way that reduces emotional intensity and supports healing at a deep level.
Therapists utilizing EMDR techniques must complete an approved EMDRIA training program, which includes several days of intensive instruction, supervised practice, and follow-up consultation. Certified EMDR therapists also complete a minimum number of client sessions using the technique and commit to ongoing continuing education in trauma-informed care.
If you’re curious about whether EMDR might be a helpful addition to your healing journey, I’d love to talk with you about it during our discovery call.

Sessions are held in person at my counseling office in Cañon City, Colorado. The exact location will be provided once your appointment is confirmed. I also offer virtual sessions when needed (see below).
Yes, I do offer virtual telehealth sessions for clients who are unable to meet in person due to distance, weather, illness, or other circumstances. That said, my strong preference is for in-person appointments whenever possible. There’s something deeply meaningful and powerful about sharing physical space in a counseling session. The nonverbal communication, sense of presence, and energetic exchange that happen in the room often foster a deeper connection and more impactful healing experience.
Still, I understand that life can get complicated, and flexibility matters. If virtual sessions are a better fit for your current season, we can absolutely discuss that on our initial discovery call and decide what will best support your growth and well-being.
Standard sessions are 50 minutes long. If you ever feel the need for more time—whether we’re working through something deep or just need space to slow down—I also offer extended 80-minute sessions upon request.
Session frequency depends on your individual needs and goals. Weekly sessions are typically recommended, especially at the beginning, as they help create momentum and continuity in the therapeutic process. However, we’ll collaborate on a rhythm that feels supportive and sustainable for you. Some clients continue weekly for a season and then shift to bi-weekly or monthly as progress is made.
At this time, I do not offer evening or weekend sessions. My availability is during regular weekday business hours. If that changes in the future, I’ll be sure to update this page!
I ask for at least 12 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. This allows me to offer that time to someone else who may be waiting for care. Cancellations made with less than 12 hours’ notice—or missed appointments without prior notice—will be billed at the full session rate. I understand that emergencies happen, so exceptions will be made in cases of illness, accident, or other urgent situations. If you’re ever unsure, just reach out and we’ll talk it through.

FAQs about Fees and Payment
The fee for a standard 50-minute session is $140. If you feel that a longer session would better support your healing, I also offer extended 80-minute sessions for $220. These longer sessions can be helpful when diving deeper into complex issues or when you simply want more space to process.
No, I do not accept insurance at this time.
While I don’t currently offer a formal sliding scale, I never want finances to be the only reason someone doesn’t get the support they need. If you’re experiencing financial hardship, please reach out. I’d be happy to talk with you about available options or possible referrals.
In many cases, yes. Because my services may be considered eligible mental health support, you may be able to use your Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) to pay for sessions. Please check with your provider to confirm coverage. I’m happy to provide an invoice or superbill upon request.
Payment is due at the time of service. For your convenience, I accept cash, credit card, check, and secure online payment. If you have any questions about payment or receipts for reimbursement, just let me know—I’m happy to help.
Yes, I do offer a pre-paid session package for clients who are committed to ongoing work. When you purchase 10 sessions up front, you’ll receive 2 additional sessions at no extra cost—that’s 12 sessions total. This option not only offers savings but also supports consistency and momentum in your healing journey. If you’re interested, feel free to bring it up during your discovery call or at your next session.

FAQs about Privacy, Safety, and Ethics
Yes, absolutely. Confidentiality is one of the most important foundations of the counseling relationship. What you share in session stays between us. You deserve a space where you can speak freely, without fear of judgment or disclosure.
While confidentiality is central to our work, there are a few legal and ethical exceptions required by the state of Colorado. I am mandated to break confidentiality if:
- You are at serious risk of harming yourself or someone else
- There is suspected abuse or neglect of a child, elderly person, or vulnerable adult
- I am ordered by a court of law to release information
If any of these situations arise, I will do my best to talk with you openly about what steps need to be taken. My goal is always to protect your well-being while honoring my legal and ethical responsibilities.
For virtual sessions, I use a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform to ensure your personal information and our conversations remain protected. I also schedule time between clients to ensure privacy and prevent overlap. You’re encouraged to join your session from a private, quiet space where you feel safe and comfortable.
Yes. As a registered therapist in Colorado, I am held to a professional code of ethics and legal standards by the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA). In addition, I follow the ethical guidelines set forth by the American Association of Christian Counselors (AACC). These codes ensure that I operate with integrity, transparency, and care in every aspect of our work together.
Unfortunately, no. The building where my office is located was constructed in 1902 and does not meet current ADA accessibility standards. This means that there may be physical barriers—such as stairs or narrow doorways—that make it difficult for some individuals to access the space.
If accessibility is a concern for you, please don’t hesitate to reach out. I want every client to feel welcome and supported, and I’m happy to offer secure virtual sessions for those who are unable to attend in person. Your comfort and ability to engage in care matter deeply to me, and we’ll work together to find the best way forward for your unique needs.

FAQs about Christian Counseling
Yes, I offer Christian counseling for clients who desire to integrate their faith into the healing process. My own faith in Jesus is central to who I am and how I hold space for others—with compassion, grace, and a deep belief in your God-given worth. That said, I believe it’s essential that we meet you where you are. I will never preach at you, pressure you, or assume what your relationship with God looks like.
You are absolutely welcome here. While my approach is rooted in my Christian worldview, I will always respect your beliefs and boundaries. I do not evangelize, quote Scripture out of context, or use the Bible as a weapon—ever. I believe in honoring your story and creating a space that feels emotionally and spiritually safe, no matter where you are in your faith journey. If you’re simply looking for someone who will listen, support, and walk with you—you’re in the right place.
Faith integration is never forced. If you would like to include prayer, Scripture, or spiritual reflection in our work together, I’m honored to do so. If you’d prefer a more clinical or emotionally focused session, we’ll honor that too. Many of my clients find comfort and hope in inviting the Holy Spirit into our sessions, trusting that true healing comes not only from therapeutic insight but from the presence of God Himself. We’ll move at a pace and in a direction that aligns with your comfort and spiritual desires.
First, I want you to know—I see you. Church hurt and spiritual abuse are real, and the pain they cause can run deep. If you’ve experienced judgment, manipulation, shame, or rejection in a spiritual setting, that harm matters, and it’s not a reflection of God’s heart for you.
This is a safe space to process that pain. I won’t dismiss your experience or try to “fix” it with quick answers or spiritual clichés. We will honor your story, grieve what needs grieving, and hold space for healing—whatever that looks like for you. My hope is to walk with you gently as you sort through the wounds, rebuild trust (in yourself, others, and maybe even in God), and find a renewed sense of spiritual wholeness—on your terms.
